Woodturning

Email: info@farcabinetmakers.co.uk Call: 07753283144

Turning is something I really enjoy and always try to do a little each week.  I make a huge variety of turned pieces some of which can be seen below. Custom orders and pieces are available, to order please get in touch if you would like to discuss or order anything.

2017 winner of the Worshipful Company of Turners bursary award.  I used the bursary for training with Stuart Mortimer and spent three days with him working on a variety of pieces and techniques, such as hollow forms and twist work, which was really beneficial and helped improve my turning so much.

bowls and platters

Bowls and Platters made to order any size. These are usually made from Scottish hardwoods, burrs and character pieces like the spalted beech bowl in the photo. These make great serving dishes or a fantastic feature piece for display. These make great gifts and there is always the option to personalise each piece with date or initials. I have recently started experimenting with coloured dyes and textures on some turnings to great effect.  Please get in touch to discuss or order anything.

Legs and spindals

Legs and spindles are usually incorporated into the furniture I make but can be made for replacement stair spindles. I have also made table legs for other makers in the past. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss anything.

ornamental turning and finnials

Ornamental turning is something I am trying to do more of. This piece I made for the exhibition of bursary award winners of the Worshipful Company of Turners in 2017. A sycamore hollow form with mahogany finial and base. Get in touch if you would like to discuss anything.
